Crank: High Voltage

“Crank: High Voltage” (Comedy: 1 hour, 25 minutes); Starring: Jason Statham, Amy Smart, Dwight Yoakam and Efren Ramirez; Directors: Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor; Rated: R (Violence, profanity, gore, mature themes, sexuality, sexual innuendo and nudity)
Movie Review: Chev Chelios (Statham) fell high from a helicopter, landed on a car, bounced and lived. A few criminal lords recover Chelios and remove his heart. With an artificial heart, Chelios awakes with one intent, recovering his heart. The task will not be an easy one considering his artificial heart needs an electrical charge often or he will die. Despite heart problems, Chelios manages to take out bad guys.
Based on 2006’s “Crank” (2006), “Crank: High Voltage” is one of the craziest, extreme films this year, and eight months remain. It is tasteless, pornographic, and overly violent just to name a few of its onscreen aversions. It is also extremely over the top, which makes it interesting and entertaining yet too much. This film is for a unique few, a slim, intended audience.
Grade: D (Low voltage cranked out.)
